To me, it has always been the city in Germany where one can feel the strongest difference between down-to-earth and up-in-theclouds. On our short trip to the best skate-spots, we ran into junkies, businessmen, homeless people, and every type of hipster on earth, all of whom were simply going about their business.Which is exactly what I did.
Weeks before, I had phoned a friend and fellow cinematographer. He lives on the thirteenth floor of a high-rise and told me of a way to get up on the roof: talk about a location for a photoshoot! Said and done. After all, the thirteenth floor is everyone’s lucky floor. At first, I didn’t quite know whether I should be more excited about the potential picture or scared of the height. In the end, the excitement about the photo was stronger and I ended up with a great picture that captures the skyline of Frankfurt.
