FRIESIAN HARSHNESS

THE FINAL AT THE NORTH SEA
I had never tasted Jever, the local brew named after the town which calls it home. But since the beer tastes like the weather of its namesake, I am willing to spare myself that. The lighthouse in Westerhever has long been a recognizable backdrop not only for Jever beer advertisements but also for skate photos. The torrential downpour and blustering winds, which blew me off my board more than once, were classic examples of Friesian harshness. This is where I wanted to snap my last photo. The postcard motif would serve as the end to my tour from lake to sea.
